The Fish-Market Fiasco in the Parliament

Well… Everybody in India were treated to a visual treat in the Indian Parliament on 22nd July 2008…

After months of relentless arm-twisting by the Left front, the Congress party finally put its foot down and this opened the flood-gates for the drama called the “Vote of Confidence”—> Read Here

Well there were the usual calls of allegations and counter-allegations.

A few notable speeches included the ones by

  • Omar Abdullah- an MP from the National Conference, which lambasted the stand taken by the Left front and the opposition that the Nuclear Deal was in opposition to the Muslims in India.—> Watch here. Yup, that’s true. The Left front and the opposition parties suddenly had transformed into messiahs for the Muslims… My question is, why Muslims only??… why not the Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists…. etc etc??….
  • Lalu Prasad Yadav- an MPfrom the RJD  party gave an eloquent speech too. Video Part 1 Video Part 2

And then there was there was the note-ka-bundles-flashing-incident….. Watch this

All in all, the trust vote was quite entertaining, but nonetheless,a complete mockery of the concept of DEMOCRACY….

To sum it up, THE UPA won the trust vote quite comfortably… and lived another day….

All in all, it was a day of drama which could not be found in any Bollywood potboiler.. 😀 …

Peace out…

Cheers !!
